{"id":7,"date":"2019-01-09T18:11:11","date_gmt":"2019-01-09T18:11:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bibliohearst.on.ca\/?page_id=7"},"modified":"2025-05-16T14:11:39","modified_gmt":"2025-05-16T18:11:39","slug":"loanrules","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/bibliohearst.on.ca\/en\/loanrules\/","title":{"rendered":"Loan Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<header style=\"color: #000305; font-family: Arial, 'Lucida Sans Unicode'; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\">\n<h2 style=\"color: #000000;\">Becoming a member &amp; loan rules<\/h2>\n<header style=\"color: #000305; font-family: Arial, 'Lucida Sans Unicode'; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><\/header>\n<footer style=\"color: #000305; font-family: Arial, 'Lucida Sans Unicode'; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Becoming a member<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a library card, you must present a valid:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; photo identification with proof of residential address<br \/>\n&#8211; telephone number<br \/>\n&#8211; post office box number<\/p>\n<p>An annual fee of $25.00 is applicable to all persons not residing in Hearst, Jogues, Hallebourg or Lac St-Th\u00e9r\u00e8se.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Loan rules<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Borrowing limit<br \/>\nChildren : 5 documents<br \/>\nTeens (grade 9 up to age 18) : 15 documents<br \/>\nAdults : 15 documents<\/p>\n<p>Non-residents : 5 documents<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>***Only teens and adults can borrow a DVD, up to a maximum of five (5) per card.***<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Loan Periods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Book : 28 days<br \/>\nDVD : 7 days<br \/>\nMagazine : 7 days<\/p>\n<p><strong>Late fees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The patron is responsible for all borrowed documents and a fine will be charged for each item that is returned after the due date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For a book:<\/strong><br \/>\nChildren (up to grade 8) : $0.25 per day<br \/>\nTeens \u00a0(grade 9 up to 18 years) : $0.25 per day<br \/>\nAdults : $0.25 per day<\/p>\n<p><strong>For a DVD:<\/strong><br \/>\nTeens and adults :$0.25 per day<\/p>\n<p><strong>For a magazine:<\/strong><br \/>\nTeens and adults : $0.25 per day<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>***Anyone with an outstanding fine of $10 or more, must pay the amount in full in order to restore borrowing privileges.***<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lost or damaged document<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A patron who loses or damages a document will be held responsible for the reimbursement of the cost to replace the item plus an additional administrative fee. Furthermore, the patron will have to pay late fees if applicable. \u00a0A damaged document is considered as such when a document is not returned in the same condition as when borrowed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Returning a document<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A document can be returned at library counter or in the return box located outside the main doors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Renewing a document<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A document can be renewed up to three (3) times as long as this document is not on hold for another patron. \u00a0It is possible to renew in person, by phone, by email or through a patron&#8217;s library account on the library&#8217;s website : www.bibliohearst.on.ca. \u00a0To access account, a patron will need their library card number and their PIN.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Placing a hold<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If a document is not available, a patron can place a hold. \u00a0As soon as the document becomes available, staff will call and advise that the hold is ready for pickup. \u00a0After this call, the patron has four (4) days to come and get the document before it expires and moves on to the next patron or is placed back on the shelf. A maximum of five (5) holds for each patron is allowed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Interlibrary loan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the library does not have the document you want in its collection, it is possible to order it from another library through an interlibrary loan. \u00a0Staff will be pleased to order it for you. \u00a0A fee of $2.00 per document is charged to anyone that does not pick up their loan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special loan period<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Patrons who are leaving on vacation or leaving for an extended period of time may borrow a document for a longer loan period as long as the document is not on hold by another patron. \u00a0A patron must inform the staff at the circulation counter when borrowing.<\/p>\n<\/footer>\n<\/header>\n<footer style=\"color: #000305; font-family: Arial, 'Lucida Sans Unicode'; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\"><\/footer>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Becoming a member &amp; loan rules Becoming a member To obtain a library card, you must present a valid: &#8211; photo identification with proof of residential address &#8211; telephone number &#8211; post office box number An annual fee of $25.00 is applicable to all persons not residing in Hearst, Jogues, Hallebourg or Lac St-Th\u00e9r\u00e8se.
